Peaches

Peaches

Peaches

Peaches leg shot

Haven't seen Kiwi lay like this yet, but got a good shot of Peaches..... So cute!

Drumroll please.........

The new bunny's name is PEACHES!!!! Decided to go with the fruit theme name.  Will probably need one more name yet as long as one of the three baby Lionheads are a Doe.  They are so cute at 2 weeks old.

So a little about Peaches:  Peaches was born on July 1, 2011.  She is an American Fuzzy Lop, Tortoise Shell color.... just like Kiwi.  Since she is a show quality bunny, she has a pedigree.  Her parent bunnies are Sire:  Murphy's Melvin, Dam: Hares from Heaven Zoe.

Peaches is a sweet, not so little compared to Kiwi, bunny.  It's so funny the size difference!  She is a chow hound bunny. I've seen a big difference in Kiwi too.  It's like she is teaching Kiwi different things to do.  Peaches is a chewy bunny.  Loves to chew the baskets ad mats up.  I noticed the hanging hay balls and hay tubes go empty overnight since Peaches came to us.  I also bought a bag of rolled oats yesterday.  After Dyan, the bunny breeder, explained to me exactly what and where to get rolled oats.  Kiwi just LOVES them.  She has been munching down on them.  Haven't seen Peaches nibbling them yet but I'm sure she is.

Peaches is just like Kiwi where she doesn't like to be picked up, or I should say the picking up process.  Dyan told me that most bunnies don't.  BUT she does like to be held..... as long as you hold her, she will lay there.  She likes to be combed, and sometimes even lays down when you pet or comb her.

She's not too much of an explorer of the room yet, but shes getting there. Kiwi started out slow too, but now runs all over.   She loves the bunny run outside of the cage and runs up and down in there.  She's a great jumper, and can jump really far!

She still isn't approaching me on her own yet when she's running in the room.  Not worried about it because thats how Kiwi was at first too.  Now Kiwi regularily hops over to me to get a little lovin' !

Pictures later!

What's better than 1 cute fuzzy bunny?????

.....2 cute fuzzy bunnies! Ok, Kiwi got a companion. I didn't think any other bunny could be as adorable as Kiwi but then her twin came along! Now this may be a shock to you but Kiwi is the bunny in the back. The beauty in the front is yet unnamed. She is also an American Fuzzy Lop and believe it or not she's only 9 weeks old, whereas Kiwi is now 13 weeks. Quite a size difference! "Unnamed" bunny is a show quality bunny...... Way loads to learn to show bunnies. Her and Kiwi have bonded nicely. They have been laying next to each other and licking each others heads. So sweet! For as small as she is, Kiwi definatly wants to be the boss. Kiwi seems so happy to have a companion. Can't wait to see what happens in the next few days.

Kiwi lays down

I Love everything about this bunny. Tonight she was very relaxed and wanted to lay in front of me. First time I've seen her lay down outside the cage AND right in front of me. She let me pet her too. So this is her process: scratch, scratch, scratch, then she throws herself down to her side. So cute!

Saw her yawn yesterday too. NOT a pretty sight!

My pretty princess

My pretty girl finally laid down outside her cage right in front of me! I also got to see her yawn for the first time yesterday. Can't say that was a pretty sight!

Sneaky bunny

So today when I came home from work I went to the bunny room. Noticed a lot of bunny poo on the floor..... Outside her cage/ run area. I was starting to think she jumped out of the run, but she was on her cage laying down when I came in the room, and that would have meant she had to jump back in too. Took a closer look, and apparently she's an escape artist. Pushed the carpet down and sneaked under her cage and I guess was having fun all day hopping around the room. When she finished, she just crawled back under the cage and back in. Can't wait to see if this becomes a habit. May have to come up with another idea for the run!

Kiwi munching

Kiwi munching her hay. She loves her hay! She's really exploring today. She also lifts her one ear to listen to my iPod music play. She really loves Young the Giant too, by the way. Loads of binkies today too!

Kiwi goes in house

I made this cardboard box house for Kiwi about a week ago.... and she finally got the courage to hop into it.  Hopped in and hopped out the window on the side.  Then a few romps around the room and sha went back in it.  Yeah for Kiwi's bravery!!

Sweetie pie!

I think she gets more adorable every day!  Last night I got to see her stretch.  She kinda got up on all four tiptoes and did this downward dog yoga move.  Adorable!

Kiwi's bow for the day

Kiwi's bow for the day.... matches her perfectly.  Had another good day with her.  She sat up a few times again for me for a piece of Papaya.... so cute.  Had her downstairs with me and she hopped up on me while I was on the laptop. :)

Entered her in a cute bunny contest yesterday, only to find out today that it's for residents of the UK only.  Weird thing is she's doing really well.... she went from rank 125 to 50 in less than a day.  Think I'll keep voting just to see how far she can get.... cause she is the cutest bunny everrrrrrrr........ hop hop

New dress up bows for Kiwi

Kiwi is now the proud new owner of a whole collection of bows!  She just looks so adorable all dressed up, how could I resist....  :)

New toys for kiwi !

Some of the new toys and accessories I bought for Kiwi today.  I also got a wire basket that holds timothy hay that you hang on the cage.  That's already in the cage!  The green wire ball also gets filled with hay or vegtables.
